Associate Director, HVAC Major Projects Enablement

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the profitable execution of HVAC Controls, Building Wide Systems Integrations, Fire and Security, and other technology projects including Networking, Nurse Call, DAS, A/V and similar systems across North America
• Supervise a team of Project Executives to plan, execute, and complete large and complicated projects
• Ensure work performed follows state/provincial, local and Federal laws
• Ensure every employee and subcontractor executes work with the highest ethics and adherence to all safety standards
• Develop direct reports: prepare and deliver clear performance expectations, performance reviews, and development plans
• Work with Major Projects Installation Enablement Director to ensure Project Managers and Project Executives develop and adhere to a Project Execution Plan and Cost/Resource Loaded Schedule for each assigned project
• Promote securing of change orders and provide overall management of the change order process; work closely with the claims department leader
• Coordinate with Regional Field Support Manager and Director of North American Manufacturing Operations to resolve equipment issues elevated above HVAC Local Market team Operations
• Collaborate with Area Management Team and Regional Continuous Improvement Manager to drive compliance of Engineering and Execution standards across all installation projects; drive reductions in executed MTC cost per point, executed electrical cost per point, and slippage
• Engage and support Regional Field Support Manager to ensure technical and quality issues are resolved in the Area in a timely manner
• Ensure all product deployments and applicable technical training are scheduled and implemented across the Area
• Work with Engineering Leader to ensure Systems Engineering resources are scheduled properly to support specialty work, engineering, software programming, and commissioning; optimize Major Project engineering productivity
• Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements; conduct installation business with highest ethical standards
• Collaborate with Regional Safety Manager to champion and drive SSNA Safety Program for employees and subcontractors at all levels in Construction Management Services Installation organization, targeting zero lost time and zero recordable incidents
• Promote SSNA objectives for workplace and supplier diversity
• Participate in Area Pre-Bid Reviews to ensure projects meet all requirements, sufficient costs are carried, risks are identified and mitigated, and execution plans include sufficient resources
• Assign Project Managers as needed to support major project cost development needs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related degree
• Minimum of ten years of progressively more responsible operations management experience in the Building Industry
• Five or more years of direct project management experience

Qualifications

• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills and proficiency in speaking to large audiences
• Able to travel up to 50% of time
• Strong personal computer capabilities in MS Project, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment

Pay

Hiring salary range: $150,000.00 – $200,000.00 USD Annual. Salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
