ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR-HONORS INTERDISCIPLINARY EDUCATION

Overview

To oversee and manage Honors programming and services, focusing on interdisciplinary education and enrichment experiences for students.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to support Honors College goals
• Integrate student learning outcomes into education and engagement initiatives
• Teach courses, support curriculum development and delivery
• Create experiential learning opportunities
• Handle administrative processes such as recruitment and selection of students, and managing theses, capstone projects, and other experiential learning
• Collaborate with campus and community partners for interdisciplinary education and student engagement activities
• Organize events, manage budgets, and facilitate necessary approvals

Requirements

• PhD in English or PhD or MFA in a closely related field and five (5) years of related experience in a teaching or academic setting required
• Familiarity with honors education is desirable

Qualifications

• Strong event management skills, including organizing events and programming, working within a budget, facilitating contract submission, and securing event and budget approvals
• Displays strong leadership and support for a supportive and engaged learning community among UHP students and throughout the UAB Honors College
