Overview
To oversee and manage Honors programming and services, focusing on interdisciplinary education and enrichment experiences for students.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to support Honors College goals
- Integrate student learning outcomes into education and engagement initiatives
- Teach courses, support curriculum development and delivery
- Create experiential learning opportunities
- Handle administrative processes such as recruitment and selection of students, and managing theses, capstone projects, and other experiential learning
- Collaborate with campus and community partners for interdisciplinary education and student engagement activities
- Organize events, manage budgets, and facilitate necessary approvals
Requirements
- PhD in English or PhD or MFA in a closely related field and five (5) years of related experience in a teaching or academic setting required
- Familiarity with honors education is desirable
Qualifications
- Strong event management skills, including organizing events and programming, working within a budget, facilitating contract submission, and securing event and budget approvals
- Displays strong leadership and support for a supportive and engaged learning community among UHP students and throughout the UAB Honors College
