Associate Director for Communications and Stewardship

Salary: $65,000 - $82,000 per year, plus benefits. Location: Eugene, Oregon. Full-time (1.0 FTE).

About the role

The Associate Director for Communications and Stewardship is a full-time, Officer of Administration role based at the University of Oregon. This position develops and implements communications strategies that advance the Center’s mission, including planning and producing publicity, social media and web content, and stewardship materials. The Associate Director collaborates closely with Center leadership, staff, and campus partners to support engagement, visibility, events, fundraising, and long-term relationships with the community. They will also help supervise a staff member in a classified position and manage student workers.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and distribute content for communications campaigns.
• Maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.
• Oversee stewardship events and communications with donors and supporters.
• Monitor the effectiveness of communication campaigns.
• Support engagement, visibility, events, and fundraising initiatives.
• Supervise a classified staff member and manage student workers.

Schedule

The Wayne Morse Center's activities follow a cyclical pattern. The position supports a hybrid work schedule, requiring on-campus presence four days per week during the academic year, with more flexibility during summer and winter break. This role requires a flexible work schedule for staffing events, including some evenings and occasional weekend hours, as well as occasional local and in-state travel.
