About the Department

The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible for the maintenance and housekeeping services for the College Park Campus' 70+ residence halls, Greek chapter houses, and recreational facilities encompassing over 2.7 million square feet. The department employs over 300 exempt, non-exempt, and student staff.

Responsibilities

  • Managing internal business operations, internal/external budgetary, and fiscal management requirements of the Department.
  • Oversight and compliance for internal procurement, payroll, accounting processes and procedures.
  • Serving as a departmental leader in the creation and implementation of departmental strategic and operational goals and objectives.
  • Overseeing a work unit of 5 employees, with 4 direct reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Eight (8) years of professional experience managing business operations.
  • Three (3) years of experience supervising or managing professional staff.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of business acumen to understand key business drivers, organizational communications, and data.
  • Knowledge of organizational and unit performances measures.
  • Knowledge of the impact and implications of decisions on leadership objectives.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in data analytics and negotiation.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

Physical Demands

  • Normal office environment to include keyboarding, drafting correspondence, planning/documentation and notes.
  • Able to push, pull, lift, carry objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.

Conditions of Employment

  • This position requires an onsite presence. May be able to work remotely one day per week with flexibility for strategic projects.
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • This position is an essential employee related to catastrophic, weather, or other emergencies and may be required to come to campus when the University is closed.

Pay

$137,814-$165,376
