About the Department
The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible for the maintenance and housekeeping services for the College Park Campus' 70+ residence halls, Greek chapter houses, and recreational facilities encompassing over 2.7 million square feet. The department employs over 300 exempt, non-exempt, and student staff.
Responsibilities
- Managing internal business operations, internal/external budgetary, and fiscal management requirements of the Department.
- Oversight and compliance for internal procurement, payroll, accounting processes and procedures.
- Serving as a departmental leader in the creation and implementation of departmental strategic and operational goals and objectives.
- Overseeing a work unit of 5 employees, with 4 direct reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Eight (8) years of professional experience managing business operations.
- Three (3) years of experience supervising or managing professional staff.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of business acumen to understand key business drivers, organizational communications, and data.
- Knowledge of organizational and unit performances measures.
- Knowledge of the impact and implications of decisions on leadership objectives.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in data analytics and negotiation.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Physical Demands
- Normal office environment to include keyboarding, drafting correspondence, planning/documentation and notes.
- Able to push, pull, lift, carry objects up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
Conditions of Employment
- This position requires an onsite presence. May be able to work remotely one day per week with flexibility for strategic projects.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required.
- This position is an essential employee related to catastrophic, weather, or other emergencies and may be required to come to campus when the University is closed.
Pay
$137,814-$165,376
