About The Role As a Norstella Associate Director, Epidemiology & HEOR Consulting, you will support the design and execution of real-world evidence, epidemiology, and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) engagements for life sciences clients. You will serve as a scientific and methodological contributor, helping translate client business and evidence needs into rigorous, fit-for-purpose research approaches that leverage real-world data. You will provide methodological support across study design, protocol development, analysis, interpretation, and communication of findings, working under the guidance of Directors and senior scientific leaders while increasingly taking ownership of discrete workstreams. You will partner with Commercial teams to support the scoping of new opportunities and the development of proposals and will begin building your own presence in client discussions as your experience grows. This role is well-suited for an epidemiologist or HEOR professional who is looking to deepen their consulting and client-facing skills, wants exposure to a broad range of therapeutic areas and real-world data sources, and is motivated by mentoring junior colleagues while continuing to build toward broader scientific and strategic leadership. Key Responsibilities – Scientific & Methodological Delivery Support the design of epidemiology, RWE, and HEOR study protocols, analysis plans, and statistical analysis approaches.Contribute methodological expertise across study design, data source selection, analysis, and interpretation of real-world data.Help ensure scientific rigor and quality across assigned engagements and workstreams.Synthesize findings into clear, client-ready deliverables, including reports, manuscripts, and presentations. Key Responsibilities – Client & Business Development Support Partner with Directors and Commercial teams to scope new opportunities and develop proposals.Support representation of Norstella's epidemiology and HEOR capabilities in client discussions.Build and maintain productive working relationships with client stakeholders.Help identify opportunities for follow-on work within existing engagements. Key Responsibilities – Team Leadership & Collaboration Provide day-to-day guidance and technical mentorship to junior consulting staff and analysts.Support quality review of team deliverables.Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.All other duties, as assigned. Required Experience Master's degree in epidemiology, public health, health economics, biostatistics, or a related field (PhD a plus).6-8 years of relevant experience in epidemiology, real-world evidence, or HEOR, ideally within a life sciences consulting or biopharmaceutical environment.Hands-on experience with real-world data sources (e.g., open claims, closed claims, EMR, registries).Experience contributing to study design, protocol development, and analytic execution.Exposure to proposal development and business development support is a plus.Some experience mentoring or guiding junior staff.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, client-ready deliverables. We do not provide visa sponsorship or transfers. We are not currently accepting candidates who are on an OPT visa. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $155,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
