About the role
The Software & Application Innovation Lab (SAIL) is a collaborative partner for Boston University faculty and researchers. The successful candidate will oversee multiple agile teams of software engineers and other technical team members.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, build, deploy, and maintenance of online prototypes, applications, software platforms, and other systems.
- Identify and implement appropriate tools, frameworks, technology stacks, and other institutional and external resources.
- Implement and oversee the implementation of solutions involving a variety of technologies and techniques.
- Work with the Director to shape long-term plans for SAIL, prioritizing opportunities, managing growth, and engaging with new collaborators and partners.
- Author project plans and technical publications.
- Communicate and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders within the research community.
- Provide consultations and contribute to open source communities.
Requirements
- A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Technology.
- At least 5-8 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with agile methodologies and software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of various programming languages and software development tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison.
Pay
Minimum $120,375.00, Maximum $168,525.00
