E Source is a research, data/analytics, and technology-focused professional services firm dedicated to the utility industry in North America. We assist utilities in enhancing customer engagement, optimizing grid operations, and leveraging operational best practices and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships by identifying needs, risks, and opportunities, and develop strategies to address them.
  • Lead and contribute to the execution of research, evaluation, and advisory projects to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Craft research and analytical solutions in collaboration with subject matter experts and technical and consulting staff.
  • Develop research and evaluation solutions that adhere to industry best practices and incorporate innovative research methodologies.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver work that meets defined objectives and client expectations.
  • Ensure project scopes, schedules, and budgets are executed successfully and aligned with contract requirements.
  • Communicate complex technical content, including research methodology and findings, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support quality assurance by establishing review processes and staffing approaches.
  • Author client-facing memos, reports, and presentations.
  • Design and lead qualitative research projects, including in-depth interviews, focus groups, and other qualitative methods, synthesizing findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Design and lead quantitative research projects, including surveys, statistical analysis, and data collection and analysis, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior consulting staff to support their professional growth and advancement.

Requirements

Approximately 7+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years designing and implementing energy research and evaluation projects. Strong demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative research, including in-depth interviews, focus groups, thematic analysis, surveys, and statistical methods, and translating findings into clear recommendations. Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong quantitative research skills, including experience with survey design, statistical methods, and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead research and evaluation studies from design through delivery.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and asking smart questions.
  • Experience working across disciplines and perspectives.
  • Strong project management skills, including managing scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality assurance.
  • Experience supporting client relationships and serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical content clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with impact evaluations, process evaluations, and market assessments.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring staff.
  • Knowledge of energy policy, regulatory frameworks, or program environments.
  • Experience supporting business development, including proposal development and finalist presentations.

Pay

The budgeted salary for this position is $120,000–$150,000 USD + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Schedule

This role will be remote with occasional travel expected 1–4 times per year.
