Associate Director, CPM Markets (China/Hong Kong)

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Support: Management of Markets' consumption of SCB's binding Balance Sheet Metrics including LCR, NSFR, RWA and Intragroup Large exposure Identity and facilitation of Balance Sheet Optimisation initiatives.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Understanding existing and new rules and regulations on Capital, Liquidity and Margining and their impact on Markets business.
  • Funding Support: Active communication with Markets Trading Desks and Sales to manage the funding pipeline and work with Treasury and FRM to better manage funding asks.
  • Liquidity Profile Optimization: Facilitating liquidity profile optimization for Markets business within risk limits and MAT.
  • Balance Sheet Management: Supporting overall balance sheet management to minimize regulatory liquidity and capital costs.
  • Process Management: Managing daily funding activities in China within the country's overall Markets funding framework; partnering with Treasury China to simplify and streamline processes.
  • Funding Transactions: Arranging funding transactions according to Markets internal funding booking model, including derivatives collateral margining funding.
  • Funding Mix Optimization: Facilitating optimization of funding mix including swap funding and other hedging as required, operating within market risk and related risk metrics.
  • People and Talent: Leading through example and building the appropriate culture and values; setting appropriate tone and expectations from their team and collaborating with risk and control partners.

Risk Management

  • Identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group.
  • Managing market risk and PNL arising from funding and corresponding hedging transactions including FX and interest rate derivatives.
  • Operating within dealing mandate and all relevant risk limits.

Governance

  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Regulatory and Business Conduct

  • Embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.

Skills and Experience

  • Dealing experience in financial instruments such as FX swaps, interest rate swaps.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key balance sheet metrics (LCR, NSFR, leverage ratio, RWA etc).
  • Qualifications: Graduate qualifications (or conversions) such as MBA, CFA, Chartered Accountancy, Mathematics/Statistics, Qualified Lawyer.
  • Experience: Over 2 to 10 years (Analyst to Director) of relevant experience in the banking and financial services industry with hands-on experience of underwriting, managing, and recovering credit exposures across both developing and developed jurisdictions.
  • Experience: Good knowledge of Global Markets businesses and balance sheet management; including market and regulatory dynamics.
  • Experience: Experience in funding activities related derivatives trading and related PnL and market risk management.
