About the role
Vouch is seeking a Commercial Insurance Account Manager to own and grow a strategic book of accounts for venture-backed companies. This role requires deep coverage knowledge across General Liability, Management Liability, Cyber/Tech E&O, and Professional Liability.
Responsibilities
- Own and grow a strategic book of commercial insurance accounts ($1M+ revenue)
- Serve as a trusted senior advisor to founders, CFOs, and executive stakeholders at venture-backed companies
- Lead end-to-end renewal strategy including proactive risk advisory, coverage gap analysis, and client-facing program recommendations that anticipate business growth milestones
- Drive retention and revenue expansion by identifying upgrade and cross-sell opportunities independently, building a point of view on each client's evolving risk profile, and acting on it
- Manage complex coverage conversations across Management Liability (D&O, EPLI, Fiduciary), Cyber/Tech E&O, GL, Professional Liability, and Workers' Compensation with depth and confidence
- Partner with the Placements team as a strategic peer—bringing client context, funding stage intelligence, and risk narrative to market submissions
- Engage during late-stage sales conversations and ensure a high-quality handoff from Sales that sets the client relationship up for long-term success
- Operate with a high degree of independence and ambiguity—managing competing priorities, complex client situations, and cross-functional coordination without close managerial oversight
- Contribute to team development by sharing coverage knowledge, mentoring Client Managers, and participating in onboarding and training initiatives as the function scales
- Leverage AI-powered tools (Vouch proprietary systems, AI copilots) to increase coverage accuracy, renewal efficiency, and client communication quality—and actively identify opportunities to improve workflows
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial insurance brokerage experience, with a demonstrated track record of independently managing a complex P&C book
- Deep coverage knowledge across General Liability, Management Liability, Cyber/Tech E&O, and Professional Liability—able to lead substantive coverage conversations with C-suite executives without support
- Active P&C License required
- Proven ability to manage high-touch client relationships at Series A–C companies or equivalent complexity, with direct experience navigating funding-stage triggers, board-level dynamics, and rapid growth environments
- Strong retention and growth track record—can point to specific accounts retained, expanded, or recovered through proactive advisory
- Operates autonomously: sets priorities, manages workload, and makes quality decisions with limited managerial direction
- Excellent communicator—able to translate complex insurance concepts into plain language for non-expert audiences and influence internal stakeholders across functions
- Comfortable with ambiguity and changing conditions; adapts quickly without losing quality or client focus
Qualifications
- Exposure to and passion for early-stage startups and/or high-growth environments
- Experience with Fintech, Web3, SaaS, Enterprise AI, and Professional Services accounts (nice to have)
