Associate Director, Annual Giving Engagement.

Hiring range: $87,500 – $110,000. This is a regular, full-time, exempt position located on campus in Hanover, NH with a hybrid schedule of 1-2 days per week.

About the role

In partnership with and under the guidance of Advancement leadership, and as informed by Tuck’s strategic priorities, the associate director cultivates and solicits alumni for annual gifts and develops and implements strategies to maintain and increase annual giving participation. Through the management of volunteer programs, targeted solicitation efforts, and engagement initiatives, the associate director fosters meaningful alumni involvement and broad-based philanthropic support, strengthening Tuck’s culture of engagement and giving.

Responsibilities

• Donor Engagement (35%): Design and execute strategies that strengthen alumni connection to Tuck and encourage annual giving. Work directly with donors to solicit gifts and provide education about annual giving. Develop cultivation opportunities that help alumni understand Tuck’s priorities, experience the impact of philanthropy, and deepen their relationship with the school. Partner with Alumni Engagement colleagues to foster a culture of engagement, participation, and lifelong support.
• Gift Solicitation and Commitments (25%): Identify donor prospects, cultivate, solicit, and close annual fund gifts. Secure written commitments and ensure prompt payments on pledges already made. Build a pipeline of annual fund donors and elevate their giving over time.
• Volunteer Management (25%): Recruit and manage annual giving volunteers. Train volunteers to solicit peers, provide tools, communications, and resources needed to engage classmates and encourage participation in Tuck Annual Giving. Monitor volunteer activity, provide ongoing coaching and stewardship, and recognize volunteer contributions in support of participation and fundraising goals.
• Student Engagement (10%): Partner with Alumni Engagement and other campus stakeholders to cultivate a culture of engagement and philanthropy among current students. Support initiatives that connect students with alumni, deepen understanding of Tuck’s culture of giving, and encourage lifelong participation in the Tuck community.
• Team Development (5%): Contribute ideas, input, and support to Tuck Advancement initiatives, decisions, communications, and other activities with annual giving implications. Seek out, apply, and share knowledge of higher education fundraising trends and innovations.
• Demonstrate professionalism and collegiality through actions, interactions, and communications with others appropriate to an environment that is welcoming to all. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of related professional experience with at least 3 years of experience in annual giving, alumni engagement, or related development work.
• Demonstrated success in driving participation and building engagement.
• Strong communication, organizational, and volunteer management skills.
• Experience collaborating across teams and working with volunteers.
• Proficiency with donor databases, CRM systems, and digital fundraising tools.
• Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of alumni, alumni class officers and volunteers, colleagues, and other constituents.
• Able to introduce and drive innovation in ways small and large.
• Able to collaborate with others as primary means to achieve results.
• Able to seek out and create learning opportunities, including through those revealed by setbacks and failures as well as successes.
