About the role
The Associate CAD Designer develops trend-right product by creating innovative, brand-relevant prints and patterns for multiple classifications. You will partner with cross-functional teams—Design Directors, Production, Graphics, and Colorists—to translate conceptual designs into technical formats for production, ensuring prints align with seasonal themes and concepts.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Nautica CAD team to create original prints and patterns that are trend-forward and brand-appropriate for seasonal color and concept.
- Research and assist in coordinating print/pattern direction.
- Translate inspirational sample prints and patterns into CAD format.
- Color and create pattern repeats throughout development, formatting in CAD for multiple classifications per concept and season.
- Support line development by updating and refreshing CAD prints and patterns as designs evolve.
- Understand production processes and their impact on print and pattern development.
- Maintain organized classification systems to ensure files are accessible to team members.
- Manage file transmission to the Design team and collaborate to troubleshoot issues.
- Create production-ready artwork following CAD center of excellence best practices.
- Use Miro to communicate, organize, and share artwork for efficient cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams (Directors, Designers, Graphics, Colorists, and Production) through communication and problem-solving.
- Maintain awareness of the corporate calendar and help the team manage deadlines.
Requirements
- 4 years of experience in the textile/graphic design industry.
- A 4-year art degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of textile/graphic processes (graphic, print, and yarn-dye) and textile design software (proficiency in Adobe Suite preferred; familiarity with Kaledo is a plus).
- Strong ability to work in a diverse, creative team.
- Excellent creative and sketching skills.
- Understanding of all markets and the Nautica customer.
- Strong presentation, persuasion, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities.
- Commitment to learning and continuous development.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in time management.

Pay
USD $62,700.00 – USD $114,000.00 per year.
