About the role
The Associate Designer supports senior design staff in creating functional, aesthetically pleasing kitchen and bath spaces. This role involves client interaction, space planning, material selection, and project documentation under the guidance of experienced designers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing design concepts, mood boards, and 3D renderings for kitchen and bath projects
- Collaborate with senior designers to create detailed drawings, specifications, and material selections
- Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and present design ideas
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, budgets, and timelines
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other trades to ensure design intent is executed accurately
- Stay updated on industry trends, products, and NKBA planning guidelines
- Assist in preparing presentations and proposals for potential clients
- Support showroom operations, including product displays and client consultations
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in kitchen and bath design or related residential design
- Proficiency in design software such as 2020 Design, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit
- Strong understanding of NKBA planning guidelines and local building codes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Portfolio demonstrating design skills and project experience
