Housing And Residence Life
- Oversee Residence Life and Housing, including staffing and supervision, departmental budget management and oversight (including gift funding), marketing and program development, contract management, residential facilities, housing operations, policy development and implementation, relationship cultivation (internal and external partnerships), technology and assessment.
- Provide systemwide oversight, alignment, direction, and training for use of housing software.
- Leads related cross-campus departmental partnerships.
- Develop and implement a robust residential education co-curriculum program model with a focus on community belonging, meaningful student living-learning residential community experience, inclusive excellence, class-based Bulldog Pathways initiatives and programs integration, and skill development through high impact practices supporting student success in collaboration with campus partners.
- Enhance resident assistant high impact student leadership experience, inclusive of an academic course, integrating experiential learning and career development.
- Enhance residential student engagement through development of Residential Hall Association and support establishment of peer-based educational residential student conduct board.
- Expand partnership with Student Campus Life and Office of Inclusion and Community to bolster student engagement and community connection, including late-night and weekend programming (e.g. Hunsaker After Dark), and Greek Life residential student experience.
Supervision And Training
- Provide supervision and training for professional, paraprofessional, graduate assistants, undergraduate student employees, undergraduate student leaders, and formulate individual performance and professional development goals aligned with the department’s mission and strategic plan.
- Provides dotted line supervision to Woodbury Residence Life Coordinator.
- Mets regularly with direct reports to assess progress towards goals, track and evaluate residential student retention and outcomes, key performance indicators, discuss professional growth and development, provide support and direction, promote teamwork and individual accountability, and acknowledge performance milestones and achievements.
- Provide training and coaching support to departmental staff in programming, emergency preparedness and response (including, but not limited to, Title IX related incidents), residential education and co-curriculum, leadership development, safety, student crisis intervention, and risk management.
Budgets And Fundraising
- Partner closely with admissions and business and finance on annual enrollment and housing projections.
- Aid in the preparation and submission of grant proposals and divisional fundraising priorities, ensuring alignment with donor interests and organizational needs.
- Oversee the budgets and finances for all supervised areas, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures and/or activity fee guidelines.
- Provide oversight of departmental, gift funds, grant funding and compliance with fund assurances such as gift tracking, reporting and donor funding guidelines.
- Foster meaningful programmatic engagement and affinity with alumni, parents and family members, and community stakeholders.
