About the role
The Andrew J Anagnost College of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking an innovative academic leader to serve as the Associate Dean. The college comprises five departments and offers various degree programs, including ABET-accredited B.S. degrees and M.S. degrees.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Dean in carrying out the mission and vision of the College
- Works collaboratively with department chairs and others throughout the University
- Supports the missions of the College and University
- Creates and maintains databases related to the college’s students and programs
- Interprets and executes academic policies and regulations
- Provides creative and effective leadership on curriculum development and delivery
- Coordinates the college’s efforts in student outreach and recruitment
- Serves as Executive Secretary for the Academic Affairs and Student Affairs Committees
- Represents the Dean in the Dean's absence
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated excellence in university-level teaching
- Demonstrated record of outstanding scholarly, creative, and/or professional accomplishment
- Demonstrated effectiveness as a member of an administrative team
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators
- Demonstrated ability in student advisement and mentoring
- Excellent public relations and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities and identify and solve organizational problems
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership in responding to the diversity and international character of the university and the college
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and committees with a collaborative leadership style
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership within a college that values diversity, student centered learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience. The University offers excellent fringe benefits. The anticipated hiring range is $177,000 to $195,828 per year, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The effective date of appointment is July 2026.
