Associate Data Center Technician (L1 Night)

This role requires employees to be physically present in the specified office on a full-time basis to ensure success and fulfillment of responsibilities.
About the role
As an Associate Data Center Technician, you will troubleshoot failed hard drives and DIMMs, install new SSDs and NVMe drives into existing servers, and assist Level 2 Data Center Technicians with server maintenance. The quality of your work directly impacts the stability and performance of the company's enterprise systems. Responsiveness and effectiveness during system outages are critical, as downtime is measured in minutes. You will work under the direction of the local site supervisor and collaborate with contracted and senior technicians to meet SLAs and KPIs, with full-time engineers available for escalation.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve failed hard drives and DIMMs within server nodes.
- Install new SSD and NVMe hard drives into existing servers.
- Troubleshoot console connectivity, power supply, and RDU (power strip) issues.
- Resolve all tier 1 server hardware break-fix issues.
- Respond to system problems on a 24/7 basis and participate in on-call rotation.
- Assist Data Center Technicians with OS-level and network troubleshooting.
- Process (identify, tag, and prepare) server nodes for decommissioning and coordinate with third-party ITAM vendors.
- Ensure compliance with data center house rules and report cleanliness or other concerns to leadership.
Requirements
- 2+ years in a Data Center Engineering role.
- 2+ years of Linux troubleshooting experience.
- 2+ years of server hardware troubleshooting experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with server hardware components and troubleshooting.
- A+ certification.

Pay
$25.00 - $35.20 hourly (W2/Non-Exempt).
