About the role

Join Amazon Leo's Legal team and help navigate the complex legal landscape of satellite technology and regulatory licensing challenges that haven't been solved before in Latin America. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required. No space travel is required at this time.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and analyze complex legal issues related to satellite technology and regulatory licensing matters, providing strategic counsel to business and technical teams
  • Collaborate with Amazon Leo's technical, regulatory, and business teams to assess legal implications of new initiatives and advise on risk mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to understand business objectives and provide proactive legal guidance
  • Support senior leadership and cross-functional teams in evaluating business-critical decisions and implementing legal solutions
  • Advise on matters involving telecommunications law, spectrum licensing and international regulatory matters

Basic Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • 3+ years of legal experience
  • Some fluency in Spanish or Portuguese (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese highly desired
  • Experience advising senior executives or organizational leadership on legal and strategic matters
  • Experience building and sustaining collaborative relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams
  • Background in technology law, telecommunications law, regulatory matters, or international business matters
  • Experience working in fast-paced, innovative environments with evolving legal landscapes
  • Familiarity with U.S. and/or international regulations, ITU frameworks, or international spectrum matters
