Associate Controller

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of cash forecasting, monthly financial close, and financial reporting.
• Own month-end close execution and adherence to deadlines; review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage accounting staff, particularly general ledger and accounts payable functions; provide mentorship to enhance team skills and performance.
• Monitor and forecast cash flow; review and approve payment runs.
• Review monthly financial performance and budget variances; ensure financial statements comply with US GAAP.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of financial data to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
• Oversee consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Assist in maintaining internal controls, SOX-like standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with FP&A and operations on budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Provide technical accounting support to the financial management team.
• Support and contribute to strategic finance initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or auditing roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica) or other construction software is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
