About the role
As an Associate Consultant & Project Coordinator, you’ll play a supporting and learning role in transforming organizations into inspiring, high-performing places to do meaningful work. You’ll help design and deliver the experiences, artifacts, and insights that shift behavior and build culture in complex government and enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Project Administration: Support the operational side of projects by managing calendars, organizing files, tracking deliverables, and troubleshooting tools and systems.
- Client Communications: Draft clear, jargon-free communications that ensure clients are informed, aligned, and engaged throughout every phase of a project.
- Event Planning & Coordination: Help orchestrate events that become turning points for client culture, managing logistics such as vendor coordination, registration, travel, and on-the-ground support.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Help design and run surveys, interviews, and facilitation exercises that capture the lived experience of stakeholders, and support consultants in analyzing trends, surfacing insights, and framing stories.
- Experience Design & Facilitation Support: Help design client engagements that spark new ways of thinking and working, preparing materials, supporting facilitators during sessions, and capturing insights in real time.
- Presentation & Creative Development: Help bring strategy and insights to life through polished presentations and reports, shaping decks, visual tools, and cultural artifacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Design, Business, Communications, and Marketing; or equivalent work experience in design, project coordination, or consulting.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in a related role (internships, fellowships, or early career positions count).
- Comfort working in ambiguity and moving quickly without all the answers, and a “get stuff done” mindset.
- Deep curiosity about people, behavior, design, systems, and storytelling.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Strong communication - clear, empathetic, and jargon-free.
- Adaptability and poise under pressure; thrives in fast-moving environments.
- Emotional intelligence and presence in high-trust, high-stakes conversations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias for action and innovation.
- Passion for the mission and complexity of the Department of Defense.
- Ability to travel 1–2x per month (up to 30%) to various client locations.

- Experience in project management and coordination.
- Proficiency in project management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with qualitative research methods.
