Associate Claims Adjuster

Location: Overland Park, KS (Kansas City Metro) – full-time, in-office role.

About the role

Steadily is hiring an Associate Claims Adjuster who thrives in a high-caliber team. You’ll guide customers through the claims process with empathy, accuracy, and speed, delivering a fast, easy, and effortless experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete a structured onboarding program covering basic insurance principles and property claims.
• Complete an adjuster licensing course and acquire applicable licensing for the role.
• Learn the Steadily approach to claims handling.
• Establish new claims by taking the customer’s First Notice of Loss.
• Request appraisals, estimates, cause & origin reports, and other investigative reports.
• Communicate with customers via their preferred channel (phone, text, email, mail).
• Review estimates and reports, then issue payments as owed under the policy contract.
• Adjust claim files with extremely high quality, exceeding auditor expectations through ample documentation, regular diary entries, and strict compliance with coverage laws and regulations.
• During catastrophes, support the entire team in an all-hands-on-deck approach.
• Assist in establishing new workflows, improving existing workflows, and building claims processes.

Requirements

• No direct insurance or claims-adjusting experience required; relevant skills and eagerness to learn quickly are key.
• Customer-facing experience that demands strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and handling high-stakes conversations is a plus.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate concisely, diplomatically, and calmly.
• Above-average computer skills; ability to independently learn new software quickly and use online resources effectively.
• Self-driven, thrives under pressure, and manages a large workload with minimal oversight.
• Hungry to join an early-stage tech company and accelerate growth; willing to roll up sleeves and hustle beyond a traditional 9-5.
• Project management experience is a plus.

Pay

$80,000 – $95,000 base salary including meaningful equity.

Schedule

• 8 am – 5 pm, 9 am – 6 pm, or 10 am – 7 pm CST.
• The 10 am – 7 pm shift includes a $5,000 per year shift differential.
