Associate Chaplain - Contingent - Rotating Shifts - Detroit

About the role

Under supervision of the Manager of Spiritual Care, and according to established policies and procedures of the hospital, the Associate Chaplain provides spiritual care to patients and families and participates as a member of the health care team caring for patients, families, and staff. Associate Chaplains visit in-patients as requested during their designated shift.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage spiritual concerns of patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
• Function collaboratively with peers and other interdisciplinary professionals.
• Respond to codes and crisis situations in ED and critical care units.
• Document spiritual care assessments and interventions as completed.
• Perform religious rituals as requested by patients/family.
• Weekend and on-call duties.

Requirements

• One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education.
• Bachelor's degree in theology, Pastoral Ministry, or related field.
• Two years of relevant ministry experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Further Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.
