Associate Casualty Claims Adjuster

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete the claims training program through classroom study, hands-on training, and independent study.
• Investigate, evaluate, and conclude casualty claims of complex nature.
• Adjust losses in excess of $5,000 required.
• Aptitude for first and third-party claims.
• Collaborate with teammates to effectively navigate claims.
• Investigate and evaluate coverage issues.
• Support company, departmental, and managerial decisions through positive interpretation, application, and communication of company information and policies.
• Perform special projects as assigned.

Education &/Or Experience

• College Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Consideration will be given to applicants with an associate's degree.
• Work experience in the property/casualty insurance industry is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated desire to learn through completion of various IIA/CPCU or other recognized industry courses desired.

Physical Requirements

• Sit, reach with hands and arms to operate computer keyboard.
• Talk and hear.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
