About the role

Examines heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph (EKG) monitors to detect any abnormal heart rhythms. Assists physicians in emergency responses to heart irregularities.

• Observes an electrocardiograph (EKG) monitor and examines heartbeat patterns to identify any abnormal variations in heart rhythms.
• Recognizes emergency situations and informs physicians so immediate medical action can be taken.
• Records the heart's electrical activities using an EKG monitor and checks the quality of recorded material.
• Orders and stocks supplies as necessary.
• Prints an EKG report, detailing a patient's cardiovascular condition, for physician interpretation and diagnosis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) certification, Cardiac Rhythm Monitoring certification (CRAT), or National Telemetry Certification (National Telemetry Association) encouraged but not required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.

Pay

Salary Range: $17.00 - $25.50 per hour
