About the role
Join Mattress Firm and help people sleep well by curating product categories that meet customer demand across omnichannel platforms. This hybrid role reports to the Bed Quarters location in Houston, TX three days each week and allows remote work the remainder of the week.
Responsibilities
- Curate omnichannel mattress assortment that complements brick-and-mortar and meets customer demand; manage vendors, ensure competitive pricing, and partner with POD to execute.
- Assist leadership in vendor/supplier partnerships, tactical workflows, vendor onboarding, and day-to-day relationships.
- Support Buyer in compiling and maintaining Go-To-Market, Pricing, and End-of-Life plans for products.
- Organize and maintain Category share-drive folders.
- Manage agenda, capture notes, action items for Category meetings, and lead follow-ups with Vendors, cross-functional partners, and POD members.
- Lead vendor compliance within Supply Chain to ensure accurate system reporting.
- Support Buyer in developing RFPs and tracking/assessing proposals and samples.
- Manage all aspects of field concept testing including support, implementation, and measurement.
- Monitor category product representation on the website and within digital tools; champion optimization in collaboration with the Digital team and vendors.
- Support Category Buyer on development and measurement of product/category promotions and pricing with vendor partners and internal teams; ensure timely requests to master data and communications for implementation; lead workstream for online-only products.
- Gather weekly reporting from internal partners, monitor against KPIs, and analyze trends or anomalies.
- Monitor and report on industry trends and competitive landscape; collaborate with Buyer to identify opportunities for product development.
- Support all aspects of new product onboarding with master data, product lifecycle management, digital, marketing, and field communications.
- Complete all required training modules and certifications by the due date.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures for a safe work environment.
- Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
- Follow Company policies, standards on appearance, functionality, and brand representation.
- Escalate concerns or issues to leadership to maintain department and Company efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3+ years of merchandising experience.
- 3+ years of proven project management experience.
- 3+ years of experience working with vendor partners and internal cross-functional teams.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting on key KPIs.

Pay
Competitive pay range of $70,000 - $90,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available for eligible roles at the Company’s discretion.
