About the role
As an Associate Buyer, you will build the foundation of your procurement career while supporting a world-class aerospace manufacturing operation. In this entry-level role, you'll work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure critical materials and services are delivered on time, at the right cost, and to the highest quality standards. This position is ideal for a driven professional who brings strong analytical skills, adaptability, a sense of urgency, and a desire to learn the complexities of aerospace supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- Support procurement activities for assigned aerospace commodities and services.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships while gathering and validating pricing, specifications, and delivery information.
- Solicit supplier quotations, evaluate bids, and assist with negotiating favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Create and manage purchase orders and contracts in accordance with company policies and business requirements.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, and other stakeholders to support operational objectives.
- Track supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
- Resolve procurement issues, shipment delays, discrepancies, and supplier concerns through timely corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace industry standards, including AS9100 and ITAR requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.
- Entry-level experience with an interest in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound business decisions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and commitment to meeting customer and operational needs.
- Basic knowledge of purchasing methods, supplier management, or procurement processes is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; ERP or SAP experience is a plus.
- This position requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer.
