About the role
The Associate - Business Development - Compliance position supports Mayo Clinic's Business Development mission through post-deal compliance activities related to Mayo Clinic's portfolio of active agreements. Key responsibilities include interpreting, tracking, and supporting enforcement of contractual obligations, monitoring partner performance, coordinating internal stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to financial and operational terms.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an individual contributor responsible for interpreting, tracking, and supporting enforcement of contractual obligations.
- Maintain compliance documentation, support reporting and audit activities, identify and escalate risks, and assist in resolving compliance issues.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, organizing and managing work accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Commercialization, Technology Development, and Partnerships Work Units.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, or advanced degree preferred (e.g., PhD, MD, JD), in business, science, or related field, plus one year specific experience related to the role and area of work: business development, finance/venture capital, technology transfer, venture management, i/p commercialization, licensing, patents, partnerships, business-to-business collaborations, investments, start-up companies and/or sourcing partnering opportunities in the health care, medical/biotechnology or financial/venture capital industries.
- One year experience directly related to technology licensing for roles within the Commercialization Work Unit.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with a variety of different people with diverse backgrounds, strong project management skills, and ability to manage several initiatives simultaneously.
- Entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial qualities, strong analytical skills, resourcefulness, and ability to work independently on assigned projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with an academic medical center or equivalent setting, mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling and analytical valuation, Chartered Financial Analyst certification, experience with national consulting firms, and knowledge of science, clinical or bench research, business principles, laws and regulations relating to the patenting and licensing of inventions.
Pay
$88,300 - $123,700 / year
