Associate Bioengineer (Contractor)
About the role
Visby Medical, Inc. is an ambitious, fast‑paced early‑stage biotech startup based in San Jose. The company is developing a novel diagnostic device platform to make disease diagnosis quick, accurate, and accessible. The Associate Bioengineer will support the Engineering team in developing the diagnostic device, performing modular and system‑level testing, writing test protocols, generating test reports, and more.
Responsibilities
- Verification and Validation testing, writing test protocols and generating Test Reports.
- Perform sub‑system and component level characterization and functional testing.
- Perform biological and engineering experiments.
- Debug complex and interdependent biological and electromechanical subsystems.
- Generate Engineering Change Orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Bioengineering, Biology, or related discipline. 0‑2 years of work experience in industry. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis; Visby Medical, Inc. will not sponsor work visas.
Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong data analysis abilities.
Pay
$35 – $50 per hour.
Schedule
Onsite work Monday through Friday, standard working hours; no remote or hybrid option. This is a 6‑month contract with the possibility of extension. Travel: none. Physical requirements: comfortable performing repetitive tasks and/or motions; able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
