Associate Attorney - Silica Defense

Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Silica Defense practice in California. This position may be fully remote or based in our Los Angeles or San Francisco offices. Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload with partner oversight
• Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery
• Conduct legal research and prepare substantive legal analysis
• Take and defend depositions
• Participate in mediations and arbitrations
• Communicate directly with clients and insurance carriers
• Collaborate with a team of experienced litigators on complex matters

Requirements

• Active California bar license
• At least 1 year of defense litigation experience
• Deposition experience required
• Experience with toxic tort, silica, asbestos, or product liability defense preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
• A proactive mindset and ownership of assignments
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
• Experience with mediations or arbitrations is a plus

Pay

Salary range: $115,000–$175,000 annually, depending on experience.
