About the role
Our prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney specializing in Public Agency Litigation. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of legal professionals, providing exceptional service to public agency clients. This is a permanent, full-time position offering excellent career growth and advancement opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of public agency litigation matters, including municipal law, civil litigation, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), construction defect, and construction cases.
- Represent public agencies, cities, counties, and special districts in various litigation matters.
- Interpret, analyze, and provide guidance on local government laws, regulations, and policies.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, briefs, motions, pleadings, and other court filings.
- Provide sound legal advice to public agency clients on a wide range of legal issues.
- Participate in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient and effective handling of cases.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar and in good standing.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in public agency litigation, with a strong background in municipal law, civil litigation, CEQA, construction defect, and construction cases.
- Demonstrated experience representing local government entities.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and projects with keen attention to detail and deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff at all levels.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
