Associate Attorney - Pleading Review

About the role

The Pleading Review Attorney will review complaints, letters, and other pleadings to determine if there are sufficient grounds to proceed based on federal and state regulations. This position involves staying compliant with organizational protocols and may also include court appearances, file management, and collections negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Review pleadings for accuracy, including venue, balances, correct named parties, statute of limitations, proper documentation, and theories of recovery
• Assist in legal research to ensure pleadings and laws are up-to-date with applicable laws
• Communicate effectively and demonstrate strong pleading and complaint experience, particularly in collections-related court documents
• Show strong motivation by working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Use computer and word processing skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and quickly learn new technical programs

Requirements

• One to two years of experience in Creditors' Rights or Collection fields preferred
• Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) required
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
