Associate Attorney – Personal Injury

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of 30-40 personal injury cases, acting as the lead attorney through all aspects of litigation, from filing to trial.
  • Develop case strategies and legal theories to maximize case outcomes.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for cases.
  • Take and defend depositions, including those of plaintiffs, defendants, and expert witnesses.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations on behalf of clients.
  • Serve as second chair during trials when necessary.
  • Maintain regular client communication to provide updates on case progress and answer any questions.
  • Oversee and direct paralegals and other support staff to ensure efficient case management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years' experience in plaintiff personal injury litigation.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member of the California State Bar, in good standing.
  • Promised track record of managing a high-volume caseload and achieving successful outcomes in personal injury cases.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships with a client-focused approach.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to professional integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be able to work full-time in our Torrance office, with the option for one remote workday after the completion of the probationary period.
  • Trial experience is highly desired but not required.
