Associate Attorney - Litigation (California)
Location: California – San Francisco or fully remote from anywhere in California. Hybrid/remote options available.
About the Role
Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its dynamic Aviation Practice Group. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a highly regarded team handling complex aviation-related litigation matters. The position offers flexibility, with the option to work hybrid or fully remote within California, while collaborating with a dynamic and globally connected legal team.
Qualifications
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing
- 3+ years of substantive litigation experience
- Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, and legal briefs
- Strong legal research skills using platforms such as Westlaw, Lexis, or Nexis
- Experience preparing correspondence, opinion letters, and client reports
- Ability to manage document review and discovery processes
- Courtroom exposure, including depositions, hearings, and mediations, is preferred
- Aviation industry experience is a plus
- Federal court admission is a plus
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare detailed analyses
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related filings
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
- Interview clients, eyewitnesses, and other relevant parties
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive reporting to clients regarding case status and strategy
- Engage in significant direct communication with clients and insurers
- Assist in all phases of case development, litigation strategy, and trial preparation
- Collaborate with partners and team members to advance case objectives with efficiency and precision

Pay
Expected annual base salary range of $160,000–$200,000, as determined by experience and market factors. Eligibility for annual performance-based and monthly bonuses.
