Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

About the role

Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP is seeking a talented Litigation Associate to join our award-winning team in our Encinitas office. We are a reputable and forward-thinking mid-sized law firm, recognized for our sixth consecutive year in the U.S. News - Best Lawyers® 'Best Law Firms' rankings.

Responsibilities

• Handle a variety of litigation matters involving wrongful death, premises liability, personal injury, construction, breach of contract/business disputes, and more.
• Gain immediate hands-on experience handling every aspect of your cases including legal strategy, research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, arguing motions in court, attending mediations, and trial.
• Work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, businesses, and organizations.
• Collaborate closely with team members and have the opportunity to be mentored by experienced partners.

Requirements

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably handling matters involving general liability, construction, personal/catastrophic injury, contracts/business, and/or commercial disputes.
• Current admission to the California State Bar is required.
• Experienced in preparing pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, drafting motions and legal briefs, taking and defending depositions, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, and appearing in court.
• Arbitration and trial experience is preferred, but not required.
• Experience supervising law clerks and junior associates is a plus!
• Exceptional communication and advocacy skills along with a client-focused mindset and a passion for achieving successful outcomes.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
