About the role

We are a consumer‑protection law firm located in the Financial District of New York City, providing representation to consumers who have been harassed or otherwise deceived by creditors and debt collectors. This full‑time Associate Attorney position is based in Chicago, works hybrid with required travel for court appearances, and involves communication with our New York headquarters via telephone, email, and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of the firm’s clients in Illinois.
• Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review & draft agreements.
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
• Conduct legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.

Requirements

• Currently admitted to practice law in Illinois.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Superior organizational and time‑management skills to meet strict deadlines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with senior management and employees at all levels.
• Strong legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus.
