Associate Attorney - Business Litigation

Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP is seeking a talented Business Litigation Associate to join our award-winning team in our Newport Beach headquarters. About the role

As an integral member of our Business Litigation team, you will gain immediate hands-on experience handling a wide variety of business litigation matters involving breach of contract, partnership/dissolution, real estate, construction disputes, and more. From inception to resolution, you will handle every aspect of your cases including legal strategy, research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, arguing motions in court, attending mediations, and trial. You will work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, businesses, and organizations. This role offers an excellent platform for professional growth, collaborating closely with experienced partners and team members.

Responsibilities

• Handle business litigation matters from inception to resolution
• Develop legal strategy, conduct research, and draft pleadings and motions
• Manage discovery, argue motions in court, and attend mediations
• Take and defend depositions
• Communicate with clients and opposing counsel
• Appear in court and manage a caseload independently
• Handle transactional matters including forming business entities, drafting construction contracts, purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, and other commercial contracts (preferred but not required)

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as an attorney handling business litigation matters involving corporate, construction, real estate, and other business disputes
• Current admission to the California State Bar
• Experienced in preparing pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, drafting motions and legal briefs
• Arbitration and/or trial experience preferred but not required
• Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to interface confidently with sophisticated clients and opposing counsel
• Client-focused mindset and passion for achieving successful outcomes
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Pay

The expected base salary range is $140,000-$200,000, with actual compensation determined based on experience (this does not include the performance-based bonus plan).
