Associate Attorney

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury matters in litigation.
  • Draft complaints, motions, oppositions, mediation briefs, and other pleadings.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Attend court hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Develop case strategy, assess liability and damages, and identify evidentiary issues.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, medical examinations, mediation, and trial.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, insurance carriers, experts, and medical providers.
  • Negotiate settlements and provide clear recommendations regarding case value.
  • Assist with pre-litigation matters when attorney involvement will help move a case toward resolution.
  • Maintain accurate deadlines, case notes, and task management within the firm's case-management system.
  • Assist with trial preparation and, depending on experience, participate directly in trial.

Qualifications

  • Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
  • At least one year of civil litigation experience preferred.
  • Plaintiff-side personal injury experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of California civil procedure and discovery.
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of assignments and following matters through completion.
  • Deposition, mediation, arbitration, or trial experience is a plus.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus but is not required.

Schedule and Location

Full-time position.
Monday through Friday.
Los Angeles, California.
On-site / Hybrid Work Location: In person.
