Associate Attorney

Responsibilities

  • Manage an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written advocacy.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
  • Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain accurate billing and meet annual billable hour expectations.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and support staff as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • 3-10+ years of civil litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: General Liability, Medical Malpractice, Dental Malpractice, Public Entity Defense, Professional Liability.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Pay

Competitive salary and benefit package, performance and billing bonuses, along with annual reviews.

Schedule

Flexible office hours with no cap on vacation days. Flexible schedule allowing for some remote work, although most do come into the office.
