Associate Attorney
About the Role
Morrison Mahoney LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of civil litigation experience to join its growing litigation team. This role offers real responsibility, meaningful mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive environment. You will work on a diverse range of complex civil litigation matters, including professional liability, construction litigation, product liability, drugs and medical devices, life sciences, and toxic torts.
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Meet critical deadlines and drive matters forward in civil litigation cases.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with clients, experts, and colleagues.
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients, providing status updates and strategic guidance.
- Conduct focused legal research and draft well-crafted memoranda to support case strategy.
- Work closely with partners on complex, high-value matters.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the Rhode Island Bar.
- 1-3 years of prior civil litigation experience.
- Experience in both Rhode Island state and federal courts.
- Experience taking and defending depositions and leading discovery.
- Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
- Strong advocacy skills and ability to perform legal research.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to case management.
