Job Details
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of civil litigation experience to join our growing litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to handle meaningful litigation work in a collaborative environment with direct involvement in case strategy and client representation.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research and prepare case evaluations
- Take and defend depositions
- Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and insurers
- Develop litigation strategy and assist with trial preparation
- Maintain accurate billing and case management records
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active North Carolina bar license in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience
- Experience in one or more of the following preferred:
- Construction litigation
- Commercial litigation
- Products liability
- Professional liability
- Premises liability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
