Associate Attorney (AR)

Pappas Hayden Westberg & Jackson PC, a creditor’s rights and civil litigation law firm based in Overland Park, KS, is seeking an attorney licensed and residing in Arkansas (also holding a MO / KS / CO license is preferred but not required). This is a remote position with occasional trips to our Overland Park, KS office for training, meetings, etc. Candidates would ideally live in Arkansas.

Responsibilities

• Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents as necessary
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume role (including keeping up with emails and voicemail)
• Work closely with support staff and other attorneys to maximize efficiency
• Communicate with clients, opposing attorneys, and pro se litigants in a professional and respectful manner
• Exercise independent judgment related to case progress and resolution
• Make weekly court appearances (including traveling) for dockets, motion hearings, and trial
• Perform all other duties and projects assigned by partners

Requirements

• Licensed and residing in Arkansas (MO / KS / CO license is preferred but not required)
• Prior civil litigation experience is preferred but not required
• Experience with creditor’s rights is preferred but not required

Schedule

Minimum office hours of 8:00am to 5:30pm for Full Time. Part-Time positions are also available.
