About the Role
This is professional legal work involving advanced legal research, legal writing and preparation for court appearances. Once the incumbent is admitted to the New York State Bar, the incumbent also serves as legal counsel in the County Attorney’s Office. The work is assigned by and performed under the general supervision of the County Attorney or Chief Assistant County Attorney. Does related work as required.

- Work Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week with benefits
- Salary: $76,162/YR. (Management Compensation Plan)
- Location: Cortland County Attorney’s Office
- Status: PJC

Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a J.D., LL.B. or LL.M. Degree.
- Special Requirement: The incumbent must obtain a license to practice law in New York State within one (1) year of the date of permanent appointment. Must be a U.S. citizen in accordance with Public Officers Law.
