Job Description The Associate Architectural Designer supports architectural design and documentation efforts under the guidance of senior team members. This role contributes to drawing production, modeling, visualization, and project coordination activities while developing foundational knowledge of architectural design principles, construction materials, and building systems. The Associate Architectural Designer participates in organized project documentation efforts, assists with research and presentation materials, and supports integrated project delivery through collaboration with architectural, engineering, and construction teams. This position also develops familiarity with prefabrication strategies, Self-Perform Work (SPW), and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) workflows and standards. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilitiesWorks under the guidance and mentorship of senior architects, designers, and project leadership Key Responsibilities Support architectural design and documentation efforts through drafting, modeling, and technical detailing activitiesAssist with Building Information Modeling (BIM), visualization, and related design technology tasksParticipate in the preparation and coordination of project drawings and construction documentationConduct research on materials, building codes, systems, and product information as directedAssist in preparing presentation materials, graphics, and design deliverablesParticipate in project coordination meetings and document design decisions and action itemsMaintain organized project files, models, documentation, and version control processesLearn and apply organizational architectural standards, detailing practices, and design workflowsDevelop familiarity with SPW, prefabrication design libraries, and integrated delivery methodsSupport interdisciplinary collaboration efforts across architectural, engineering, and construction teams Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) required0–2 years of experience in architectural design, drafting, or construction documentationFamiliarity with BIM platforms and architectural modeling tools preferredBasic understanding of architectural design principles, construction materials, and building systemsStrong organizational, communication, and collaboration skillsAbility to manage tasks in a team-oriented and deadline-driven environmentNo certifications or licenses required DPR Construction is a forward-thinking, self-performing general contractor specializing in technically complex and sustainable projects for the advanced technology, life sciences, healthcare, higher education and commercial markets.
