About the role
The U.S. & Bermuda Center for AI Enablement seeks an Associate AI Business Partner to drive enterprise-wide AI adoption at scale. This role partners with business leaders to identify and advance high-impact AI opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to shape, prioritize, and refine AI opportunities aligned to business outcomes.
- Guide teams through AI use case development, support solution selection and execution.
- Connect stakeholders to the right tools, resources, and delivery paths.
- Elevate strong AI ideas, share success stories, and raise the bar for AI adoption.
- Facilitate structured intake and triage of AI opportunities, routing use cases to the appropriate business-led or technology delivery path.
- Maintain shared AI assets, including prompt libraries, use case inventories mapped to business processes, and agent tracking.
- Support buy-versus-build decisions, balancing speed, sustainability, and enterprise-defined standards.
- Support performance management of AI agents and use cases by helping define success criteria, tracking outcomes, and contributing to review and prioritization based on measurable business value and adoption metrics.
- Promote standard patterns and scalable approaches across teams to reduce duplication, increase quality, and accelerate adoption.
- Stay current on AI technology capabilities and releases, translating emerging developments into practical, business-relevant implications aligned to Markel’s technology strategy.
- Embed governance expectations, safe-use guidance, and escalation paths into day-to-day enablement activities to reinforce responsible and compliant AI use.
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience required and 1-2+ years of experience using AI tools preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience partnering with business leaders or functional teams to translate complex problems into clear, actionable opportunities, ideally involving technology, data, or process improvement.
- Strong ability to act as a thought partner and facilitator, guiding discussions, asking the right questions, and helping teams refine ideas without taking ownership away from the business.
- Practical understanding of AI concepts and capabilities sufficient to identify appropriate use cases, evaluate options, and connect teams to the right tools, vendors, or delivery paths within a technology and governance framework.
- Demonstrated comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, balancing speed with discipline and knowing when to standardize, escalate, or halt efforts based on risk, value, or misalignment.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating AI possibilities into business-relevant language and outcomes.
- Experience supporting or contributing to governance, risk, compliance, or control frameworks in a technology-enabled environment.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to document work, track progress and outcomes, and promote reuse of patterns, assets, and lessons learned.
- Curiosity and continuous learning mindset, with interest in staying current on emerging AI capabilities and translating new developments into practical implications for the business.

Pay
- Base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.
- The national average salary range for the Associate AI Business Partner is $62,400 - $85,800 with 12% incentive.
- The national average salary range for the AI Business Partner is $116,080 - $159,610 with 25% incentive.
