Associate Actuary, Analytics and Forecasting
About the role
The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. You will establish metrics, provide data analyses, and work directly to support business intelligence. You will evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium and long-term financial and competitive position.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium and long-term financial and competitive position.
- Establish metrics, provide data analyses, and work directly to support business intelligence.
- Develop, build, and continuously improve complex reserving models leveraging cloud-based technology and advanced analytics.
- Play a key role in the development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of a cloud-based reserving model.
- Leverage tools such as Databricks and Power BI to build, automate, and optimize reporting processes.
- Conduct in-depth analyses to identify opportunities for improving reserve accuracy, translating your findings into actionable enhancements to the reserve model.
- Ensure data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
- Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAAA)
- Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms
- Strong technology skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and continuously improve complex models
- Demonstrated self-starter and problem solver
- Proficient with SAS/SQL
- Experience with Databricks or Power BI
- Experience developing and applying predictive models
