Working Title: Associate Accounting Analyst

About the role

The Associate Accounting Analyst (AAA) independently performs the most complex accounting duties within the Service Payables Branch under the direction of an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor).

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and processes payments related to Major Construction Contracts, EFT Enrollment, Stop Notices, Liens, Levies, and Labor Compliance.
  • Conducts detailed audits and reconciliations.
  • Identifies and resolves payment discrepancies.
  • Takes appropriate corrective action for payment errors.
  • Acts in a lead capacity over subordinate-level staff.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State-owned or leased vehicle.
  • Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required. The SOQ must be typed, no more than two pages in length, and in 12-point Arial font. Describe your experiences and training that qualify you for this position and explain how you would be an asset to the Service Payables Branch.
  • Resume and college transcripts are required. Unofficial, original, or official sealed transcripts will be accepted and may be required upon appointment. Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a U.S. equivalency report evaluation.
  • Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Accounting Analyst exam. Candidates without current eligibility must be on the state examination list to qualify.

Pay

$6,330.00 - $7,929.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Schedule

Permanent, full-time position. This role is hybrid, with the amount of telework at the discretion of the Department based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Employees may be required to report to their worksites with minimum notification for urgent operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement is subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions.

Work Location

Sacramento County. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
