Assoc Dir, Procurement- Data Center
About the role
The applied aftermarket — service and replacement parts for Carrier’s installed base of chillers and applied equipment — is a cornerstone of the aftermarket business and the engine behind CSS data-center chiller ramp (10X growth).
Role Responsibilities
- Own applied aftermarket parts category strategy, sourcing, and supplier alliances across the CSS portfolio.
- Build and lead the parts-supply team — standard (BTS), non-standard / ETO (BTO) category specialists, a supplier performance & escalation lead, and ancillary / field-service parts.
- Set make/buy, dual-source, and inventory strategy; govern the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
- Guarantee parts availability and drive RC-to-Service OTIF improvement.
- Establish a single supplier performance & escalation owner; eliminate Material Planning vs. RC Expedite duplication.
- Lead standard build-to-stock (forecastable packages, immediate ship) and non-standard / engineer-to-order build-to-order (long-lead, expedite, escalation) strategies;
- De-risk the data-center parts ramp (10X): address the critical parts at supply risk.
- Manage NLA (no-longer-available) transitions and NPI parts readiness.
- Deliver should-cost-driven savings; own supplier OTIF scorecards and total-cost performance.
- Direct PFEP, AVL, and BOM data — including the compressor-overhaul BOM.
- Coach and develop the team; align field service, planning, factories, Commercial Parts, and suppliers around one availability plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or business.
- 10+ years of progressive procurement / parts-supply / materials leadership, including direct people leadership and building or scaling a team.
- 5+ years' experience managing a $300M+ spend portfolio while lifting OTIF/availability with strong should cost and negotiation capability.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time internationally and domestically.
