Assoc Cybersecurity Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Active Directory, including user and group management, access permissions, and file share security.
  • Manage provisioning and deprovisioning activities across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for access and security issues not resolved by the service desk.
  • Support security standards and help ensure alignment with internal controls and compliance requirements.
  • Investigate user access concerns, identify issues, and help develop practical solutions.
  • Assist with data cleanup, normalization, and ongoing updates within Active Directory.
  • Support role-mining and role-development activities as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with teammates, stakeholders, and management to keep work moving forward.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or university degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in security administration or Active Directory account administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory and file share permissions.
  • Strong understanding of user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access control concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Azure AD / Entra ID.
  • Fundamental knowledge of PowerShell or another scripting language.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting.
  • Able to create, update, and improve processes and documentation as requirements change.
  • Familiarity with information security policies, standards, and governance controls.
  • Experience working with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
  • Comfort working in secure, complex computing environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of AWS and Linux/Unix environments.
  • Exposure to identity governance tools such as SailPoint IIQ/ISC or Saviynt.
  • Experience with privileged access management solutions such as CyberArk, Delinea, or BeyondTrust.
  • Familiarity with Splunk or similar security monitoring tools.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale hybrid identity environments.
  • Able to contribute to process improvements and operational documentation.
