Assisted Living Housekeeper

Responsibilities

  • Clean resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas, according to established schedules.
  • Clean and sanitize common areas, including hallways, dining rooms, activity spaces, lounges, offices, and public restrooms.
  • Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and disinfect all assigned areas.
  • Empty trash and replace liners in resident rooms and common areas.
  • Restock housekeeping supplies, paper products, and cleaning materials as needed.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged equipment promptly.
  • Ensure resident apartments are clean, organized, and ready for new admissions or transfers.
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy at all times.
  • Build positive relationships with residents by greeting them warmly and interacting in a respectful, compassionate manner.
  • Follow all community policies, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Assist with laundry duties as assigned, including washing, drying, folding, and delivering resident linens or personal laundry.
  • Properly dispose of biohazardous waste and soiled linens according to policy.
  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and in-service education.
  • Assist other departments during special events or community needs as requested.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support resident care and the overall operation of the community.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in housekeeping or related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
