Responsibilities
- Clean resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas, according to established schedules.
- Clean and sanitize common areas, including hallways, dining rooms, activity spaces, lounges, offices, and public restrooms.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and disinfect all assigned areas.
- Empty trash and replace liners in resident rooms and common areas.
- Restock housekeeping supplies, paper products, and cleaning materials as needed.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged equipment promptly.
- Ensure resident apartments are clean, organized, and ready for new admissions or transfers.
- Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and leadership.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy at all times.
- Build positive relationships with residents by greeting them warmly and interacting in a respectful, compassionate manner.
- Follow all community policies, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures.
- Assist with laundry duties as assigned, including washing, drying, folding, and delivering resident linens or personal laundry.
- Properly dispose of biohazardous waste and soiled linens according to policy.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and in-service education.
- Assist other departments during special events or community needs as requested.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support resident care and the overall operation of the community.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in housekeeping or related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
