About the role
The position involves leading and developing student athletes, recruiting quality student athletes, ensuring excellence in the athletic department, and providing administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Discipleship and spiritual growth of student athletes
- Teaching and modeling Christian competition values
- Maintaining academic performance and working with Student Development
- Counseling team members on disciplinary, academic, or personal matters
- Serving as the recruiting coordinator for the softball program
- Filling the roster of 20 student athletes
- Managing social media accounts for the LETU Women’s Basketball program
- Ensuring compliance with University, ASC Conference, and NCAA policies and regulations
- Determining fiscal requirements and budgetary recommendations for the team
- Monitoring academic progress and acting as a liaison to the program
- Performing other duties as requested by the head coach or VP/Director of Athletics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred
- One to two years of related experience, preferably in collegiate athletics coaching
- Dynamic leadership within the athletic department
- Strong organizational abilities
- Cooperative working relationships with administrators, coaches, students, and faculty members
- Good written and oral communication skills
- A strong understanding of and commitment to NCAA Division III
- An enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith committed to a Christian higher education
