Assistant Women's Basketball Coach 3

About the role

The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach 3 assists with all aspects of an NCAA Division I Women's Basketball program, including identifying and recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, supporting their academic progress, preparing and conducting practices, training, film review, statistical analysis, and competition. They also foster the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes, organize team and staff travel, manage equipment and supplies, coordinate special events, and represent the program.

Responsibilities

• Identify and recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes
• Support the academic progress of student-athletes
• Prepare and conduct individual and team practices, training, film review, statistical analysis and competition
• Foster the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes
• Organize team and staff travel arrangements
• Facilitate administrative duties and paperwork
• Manage the distribution and ordering of team equipment and office supplies
• Cook up and administer special basketball events
• Represent the sports program as needed in association with promoting and fundraising for the program

Requirements

• 4 - 7 years of related experience
• 1 - 2 years of experience coaching in the Big West Conference

Qualifications

• Current work authorization
• Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training with a college-level program
• Strong interpersonal, motivational and team leadership skills
• Ability to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making
• Effective problem solving and verbal/written communication skills
• Knowledge of team sport or activity and demonstrated technical expertise in coaching principles
• Leadership skills to mentor and develop athletes
• Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA)
