Responsibilities
- Maintains and implements nursing policies and procedures that reflect current standards of nursing practice, company, and facility philosophy of care and practices while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff.
- Makes sure policies and procedures are being used correctly and helps make sure they lead to good results.
- Does resident assessments and suggests what kind of help residents need, as asked.
- Ensures that residents get good care that makes them feel comfortable and healthy.
- Shows how to follow important rules about patient care.
- Checks the 24-hour reports from different parts of the building every day to make sure there are quick and good answers to big changes in people's health, moving people around, leaving the building, using special medicines, or problems with people or their families.
- Listens to big changes in people's health and writes down what happens, like accidents, mistakes with medicine, things missing from people, or problems between people and their families.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- At least two years of professional nursing experience in a senior living care setting.
- At least two years of supervisory or management experience with direct care staff.
